Whereabouts

Our military schedule is hard to keep up with. This post may be just as much for my own reference as anyone else's:

-January 21-25: Columbia, Georgia visiting Andrew at OCS
-January 26-March 12: Spain visiting Andrew's family and taking language classes
-March 16: Andrew's graduation ball (seriously...I'm pretty sure this is a formal)
-March 18: Andrew's OCS graduation

Anything after that is uncertain. We are still not sure what Andrew's assignment will be when he graduates. I'm hoping for somewhere in the Swiss Alps.

A Promo

Please indulge me on this promotional bit for hair removal. It really has changed my life (in a much less dramatic sounding way).

Preface: I feel like most of the women who read my blog tend to be blonde-haired-paler-skinned creatures (you know who you are). You don't have to read this post. You just enjoy your fine blonde hair and keep saying things like, "Gosh, I haven't shaved in 2 weeks, look how bad my legs are." And then pull up your pant leg to reveal small, soft angelic looking hairs. You don't know what it's like to sandpaper someone else's leg off. You just go back to your regular lives.

Now to the post: By the time you're 25 years-old, most women know everything there is to know about hair removal. Most of us have shaved, tweezed, waxed or nair-ed our legs and other areas to (temporary) silky smoothness. So I'm wondering why in all my years of beauty wisdom, no one ever told me about epilators. In fact, when Andrew's cousin mentioned it over Christmas, I thought she was saying a foreign word (she was from Canada...sorry Carmen). Turns out, people actually use these things -- all over the world! An epilator is a small machine with tiny tweezers that pulls out the hair from the root, resulting in weeks of smoother legs. Granted, there is certain pain threshold required to use this product but it really only hurts the first time. After that, the hairs grow back finer and at a less rapid rate. I say all this only because maybe someone out there is tired of shaving everyday. In which case, buy an epilator! I haven't used a razor in over 2 months and I don't think I'll ever go back.

Although they are a bit of an investment, I've had no regrets about my purchase. Especially since I had been buying those really expensive razors that come scented or that vibrate or help you lose weight...or whatever else those razors do. I epilate about 1-2 times a week and I'm definitely hooked. If you don't believe me, check out the additional 900 reviews from other users. I bought the one shown here on Amazon for under $60.

If you are a boy (which I can't think of a single boy/man who reads my blog), or a blonde-haired maiden, please disregard this post. For the others, I just wanted to inform you of this great little product. If you have any questions, let me know. If not...then at least you know what the word means now (in Spanish it's called a depilator...apparently Andrew had heard of it).

P.S. Thanks Carmen.

The New Year

-My New Year's resolution: give more high-fives.
-Definition of high-five: a gesture of greeting, good-fellowship, or triumph in which one person slaps the upraised palm of the hand against that of another.
-I think it makes people feel good and shows teamwork.
-Also Monica and Chandler high-five each other and so do Jim and Pam and they're all still married so I'm going to try to incorporate this into my marriage more. Happy New Year.
